Welcome to my online gallery! I hope you will enjoy browsing through this selection of my work. As you will see, I paint a wide variety of subjects:- portraits, animal studies, landscapes, flowers, boats - so many things to paint, never enough time to do them all!
I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember, so I would say that, apart from the usual art education and a fine art foundation course, (as a mature student) I am a self-taught painter. My favourite medium is oils but I am equally at home with pastels, acrylics and watercolours. Originally from Derbyshire, I now live in Nottinghamshire and in recent years have had several one-woman exhibitions at galleries in Derby, Lincoln and Nottinghamshire. My work has also been shown at Thoresby Gallery and Patchings Art Centre. A selection can currently be seen at Longdale craft centre, Ravenshead, Notts where an exhibition is scheduled for Sept/Oct 07. Awards have included one of the Nottinghamshire Evening Post Artist of the year prizes 2001, the Pebeo prize at Patchings Art Centre, the Bramley Apple prize at the Bullyard Gallery, Southwell, and two prizewinning paintings at Longdale Craft Centre, Nottingham.
Pastel workshops, various subjects, half or full day, may be arranged for your art group. Please contact me for details. (Nottinghamshire area only.) - Portrait and animal commissions by arrangement.. Previous commissions have been sent as far afield as France, Belgium, Italy and Trinidad.
Some of my paintings are now available as limited edition giclče prints. These are produced using lightfast inks on Torchon archival quality watercolour paper. Each print will be limited to an edition of 100 and individually signed.
